Action Plan to transition into Real Estate without going Bankrupt!

Is it possible to transition from one career to a career in real estate? No matter if you already have your license or not, switching careers is scary!

There are three questions that you should ask yourself to make the right decision for you and your family.

Part time or not?
One of the questions I get asked frequently: Can you start out as a part time agent? Yes, you can do real estate part time and still have a successful career! You just can’t real the highest level of success and a six figure income and the lifestyle you are dreaming of while not being committed 100 percent. I made a video about this - feel free to check it out!

Habits

What habits need to change when you are transitioning into real estate?

Focus on your habits, not on your goals. Most people just think about their goals - but your habits will have a stronger long term effects. Ask yourself: Which habits do you have to change to go where you want to go? Making commitments to yourself and following through builds momentum. No matter if you need earlier mornings or later evenings, make sure you find the right solution for you.

Skills

What skills do you need to develop in the transitional phase? These might be lead conversion skills or sales language patterns you can improve or mastering a CRM in process to reach more people.

Transition plan

A transition plan is different for everyone, depending on where you are coming from. We helped dozens of agents coming from bartending, insurance sales or car sales to build a successful real estate career.

Think in 90 day blocks. Depending on where you are right now, transitioning into real estate full time within 90 days might be possible, or it might not. Think about what needs to happen and break it down to develop an action plan.

Starting out part time can be an alternative, as long as you don’t forget about the ultimate goal. A success formula for lots of agents on our team was to start with prospecting in the morning and meeting with clients in the afternoon while still keeping a few evenings at their old job.

Depending on your situation it might be easier to commit to three days in real estate and two to three days in your other role. Not cutting out your other income completely until you have three months of personal expenses in the bank or can support yourself with real estate is essential. You don’t want to get stressed out about not being able to cover your expenses!

A 90 day or 180 day plan can help to make this transition doable!

One thing I have noticed though:

If you pull the plug and go all in, your commitment level goes through the roof and production levels skyrock.
