How to Make Six Figures in Real Estate

The average real estate in the United States sells only four home per year. Mike Novak, Team Leader at the Novak Team in Everett, has some important insights about how to reach your sales goals and creating success in real estate as part of a team.

How do you make six figures in real estate?

The average real estate in the United States sells only four home per year. Let’s do the math to see how much you actually get out of this at the end of the year!

  • Selling four houses: After paying all your brokerage fees and expenses, you will walk away with about 15,000 dollars before paying all your taxes. This is not a great income, especially if it’s your primary income!

  • Selling ten houses: When you get busy and sell about 10 homes a year in our area in Snohomish county, you will earn about 100,000 dollar and walk away with about 60,000 Dollars after paying brokerage fees and expenses.

  • Working as part of a team: Another great way to go towards an income with six figures is on the team. With additional leverage available to you and the option of staying in your sales lane, selling 30 houses on a team is totally possible for you. This will come down to about 150,000 Dollar of earnings – without any expenses you would have as an agent working alone!

Reality check: Working as a real estate team, we saw this multiple times: New members on the team sold 30 houses in their first year and walked away with making six figures as a real estate agent.

Sure, you can do this as a single agent as well! Just take care to reach your sales volume of more than 20 houses to actually be able to walk away with more than $100,000 after paying all your fees and expenses.
